That is the published capacity for this size, against 800 lb on the Full and the Queen. It is enough for one sleeper, which is what a Twin is for, but it is the figure to check if the bed is meant to take two children at once or an adult who sits on the edge to dress.
A ten to twelve inch mattress
The deck is recessed inside the rails and the manufacturer asks for a mattress 10 to 12 inches thick. On a single bed that is a fairly deep mattress, and it is what brings the sleeping surface up to the level the headboard channels are designed around.
Twelve slats on a single width
Twelve plywood slats across 39 inches of mattress is close spacing for a bed this size, with additional legs underneath. The slats are the mattress support and nothing else goes on top of them.
