Read the drawer size
Seventeen by thirteen inches inside and five deep, twice. That is enough for socks, underwear, folded t-shirts and a set of sheets, and not enough for jumpers or bedding in bulk. The frame itself is 79.5 inches long and stands 15.5 inches high, over a deck of 76 by 39 inches.
Eight inches of mattress
The slat deck sits inside a raised rail. That is what stops the mattress travelling, and it is also why the mattress is capped at eight inches: a thicker one would stand above the rail and lose the benefit entirely.
