What the wave does
The dip at the back and the lip at the front hold you in place without a backrest. It is the same idea as a saddle seat, done in a pressed shape rather than a padded one, which is why the stool stays this slim.
Eight inches of travel
Twenty six inches wound down to 34 in wound up, with the footrest ring travelling 8 in to 16 in alongside. Note the bottom of the range: 26 in is already above counter height, so this is a stool for a bar rather than a kitchen island.
