Description
xOutdoor Wooden Wishing Well Planter
A garden feature you can plant twice: an octagonal bed around the base and a small bucket swinging under the roof.
47 inches tall22 inch octagonal bedOpen bottom
Some corners of a garden need covering, not planting
Utility covers and valve boxes
A manhole lid, an irrigation valve or a capped well sits in plain view and there is nothing useful you can grow on top of it.
A planter that stands over it
The base is a 22 inch octagon with no floor. Set it over the thing you would rather not look at and plant the ring around it.
Everything is fir that has been carbonized, a high temperature treatment that darkens the wood right through the surface. Metal bands wrap the base, the roof is laid in overlapping shingles, and a rope drops a small bucket from the crossbar.
Two planters in one frame
The wide base takes bedding plants, trailing annuals or herbs. The hanging bucket is sized for something small and showy that sits at eye level.
What it takes up
It stands 47 inches tall with a 22 inch span across the roof. The base is 11 inches deep and the bucket measures roughly 7 inches across by 8 inches.
The base has no floor
Soil in the base sits directly on the ground, so water drains away and roots carry on down. Gravel or mulch work in there just as well as soil.
What you get
Carbonized fir
High temperature treatment darkens the fir and lifts the grain across every panel.
Octagonal base bed
A 22 inch eight sided planter with 11 inches of side height.
Open ended bottom
No floor panel, so water drains straight into the ground beneath.
Adjustable bucket
The bucket hangs on a rope you can shorten or lengthen to suit the plant.
Metal banded
Steel bands wrap the base and the bucket to hold the staves together.
Shingled roof
Overlapping boards form a pitched roof that shades whatever hangs below it.

Common questions
How tall is it?
47 inches from the ground to the ridge of the roof, with a 22 inch span across the base.
Can you plant the bucket?
Yes. It measures about 8.5 by 7.5 by 6.5 inches and has a drainage hole in the bottom.
Does the base hold soil?
It holds soil but has no floor, so the soil meets the ground. Gravel and mulch work in there too.
How high does the bucket hang?
The rope is 37.8 inches long and you can shorten it, so the bucket sits where you want it under the roof.
