Description
xFull Size Wooden Platform Bed with 2 Storage Drawers and Enclosed Base, Walnut
Warm walnut stain over a boxed in base, with two drawers at the foot doing the job an open under-bed gap usually does badly. The frame is 79.5 inches long and takes a Full mattress up to 8 inches thick.
Double, 54 x 75 in mattress2 storage drawers40.5 in headboardWalnut stainEnclosed baseMattress up to 8 in
Stained walnut rather than painted, so the horizontal boards in the headboard read as grain instead of as a pattern.
Wooden knobs, metal runners
The knobs are turned from the same timber as the fronts, so nothing metal shows at the foot of the bed. Behind them the drawers run on metal slides, which keeps them moving smoothly whether the floor is carpet or board.
The numbers to chalk out
79.5 inches long by a 56.5 inch headboard width, standing 40.5 inches at the head. Inside, the mattress area is 76 by 54 inches for a Double. Each drawer needs a little over two feet of clear floor to come fully out, and the mattress must be 8 inches thick or less.
The mattress sits down into it
The deck is recessed, so the mattress is held by the rails on all four sides. That is what stops a foam mattress creeping toward the foot of the bed over a few months, and it is why the 8 inch limit exists.
Solid wood, three centre legs
Solid timber for the carcass with plywood slats across it, and three legs down the centre of the deck. The enclosed base hides all of that, which is the point: the structure does the work and none of it shows.

Who is this perfect for?
Rooms with oak or teak furniture
A walnut stain sits with warm timber rather than fighting it the way a painted frame can.
Small bedrooms
Storage at the foot of the bed instead of a second chest of drawers taking up a wall.
Renters moving often
An enclosed base and three centre legs make a rigid box that travels better than an open rail frame.
What we stand behind
- The 79.5 inch frame length, the 56.5 by 40.5 inch headboard, the 76 by 54 inch mattress area, the 15.5 inch base height, the drawer measurements and the 8 inch mattress limit are the manufacturer's published figures.
- No weight capacity is published for this bed, so we state none.
- Slat spacing and the outer width of the frame are not published.
- Drawer slide load ratings are not published.
- The mattress, bedding and nightstands in the photographs are not included.
- The stain is named walnut on the listing. No wood species is published beyond solid wood with plywood slats.
