Double, 54 x 75 in mattress39.5 in headboard6 in clearance660 lb capacity8 to 12 in mattress
White paint, a framed panel and a 9 inch gap between the headboard and the mattress. Simple enough to sit under a gallery wall without competing with it.
The gap under the headboard
39.5 inches to the top of the headboard, with 9 inches of open space between the bottom of the panel and the mattress deck. That gap is why pillows sit against wood rather than falling through, and it is also where a thick duvet tucks in. The frame is 79 inches long.
Three things under the mattress
Wooden slats across the deck, middle support legs beneath them and adjustable pads under those. The pads are the part that earns its place on an old floor. Published capacity is 660 lb.
A panel, not a slab
The headboard is a framed panel with a raised border, painted smooth. It is not upholstered, so nothing to spot clean and nothing to flatten where you lean on it.
Eight to twelve inches
That is the mattress range the manufacturer asks for. The deck is recessed inside the rails, so a mattress within that range is boxed in on all four sides rather than balanced on top of them.

Pale bedrooms and rentals
A painted white frame sits under any wall colour and does not date the room.
Anyone with pets or children
Wood wipes clean where an upholstered headboard would need spot cleaning.
What we stand behind
- The 79 inch length, the 56 by 39.5 inch headboard, the 9 inch gap under the panel, the 12 inch deck height, the 6 inch clearance, the 660 lb capacity and the 8 to 12 inch mattress thickness are the manufacturer's published figures.
- The outer width of the frame is not published. The 56 inch figure is the headboard width.
- The slats are described as closely spaced and no gap figure is published, so we state none.
- The written description covers both the white and the walnut finish. This listing is the white one.
- The mattress, bedding and nightstands in the photographs are not included.
