The inside of a cat condo
What usually goes wrong
A fabric condo collects fur, dander and the occasional accident on surfaces nobody can reach. Owners end up pushing a vacuum nozzle through a seven inch doorway and giving up.
How this one answers it
Both outer covers on this frame detach. The condo opens right up for cleaning, and a cover left off turns the same level into an open platform for a cat that dislikes being shut in.
Pale rubber wood and cream sisal against chocolate velvet condos, standing six foot three from the floor.
Six foot three, and what a layer holds
Seventy five inches puts the top perch above head height. Beside it the maker prints 35 lbs for each layer and a base of 27 by 19 inches, which is the pair worth checking on any tree this tall. One number tells you what a shelf carries, the other tells you whether the frame stays where it is while the cat lands on it.
The covers come away
Both condo covers pull off the frame. A box you cannot open is a box you cannot clean, and after a year of fur and the occasional accident that is the difference between keeping a tree and putting it out at the kerb. Leaving a cover off also turns the condo into an open shelf for a cat that will not use an enclosed space.
Solid timber uprights
The pillars are rubber wood three inches thick with the corners rounded off. Thickness is what stops a post flexing under a cat that lands rather than steps, and on a frame six foot three that flex is what an owner notices as wobble long before anything comes close to failing.
Counting the levels
The maker numbers them one to six, base board to top perch. Two are enclosed condos and two are wide platforms, so a cat working up the tree meets a different kind of space at each stop rather than the same shelf four times over.

Who is this perfect for?
Cats that want the ceiling
Seventy five inches is near the top of what a free standing tree reaches. A cat that sits on the fridge or the top of a wardrobe has already told you it wants this much height.
Three to five cats
The maker suggests the tree suits three to five cats. Six levels, two condos and two platforms give them places to pass each other without either one backing down.
Owners who clean properly
The top perch cover and both condo covers come away on hook and loop fasteners, and the velvet platform mats lift out for a cold wash.
