Trunks instead of tubes
Most towers this height run on cardboard tubes with a dowel through the middle. These uprights are solid wood branches, which is why each one has its own taper and knots. It also changes how the tree feels underfoot when a cat lands on the top bed.
Forty inches, three stops
The base is 19 inches square, the wide platform sits at 15 inches, the second round bed at 20 and the top bed at 40. The top bed measures 13.5 inches across. Thirty three pounds is published for each layer.
The cushions lift out
Both round beds take a padded cushion in long pile plush, and both cushions are detachable so they can be washed rather than spot cleaned in place. On a tower that will collect fur in two bowls, that is the difference between a quick job and a long one.
