The base problem
A big umbrella and nothing to stand it in
Most 13 foot umbrellas arrive without a base, and a stand heavy enough is a second purchase and a second delivery.
Base, bags and cover in the box
Here the cross base, frame, two sandbags and a cover come with the umbrella; each bag takes 64 lb of soil per the manufacturer.
Thirteen feet of beige canopy runs the length of a sofa set or a six seat table, and the drawing puts the top at 7.4 feet.
Dusk by the pool
The lights come on over a rattan sofa set as the sun drops behind the hills.
Measured
13 feet long and 7 feet wide, 7.4 feet tall, on a 25 inch square base.
The base
Four steps: pole to cross base, base frame, two sandbags, cover.
The lights
36 cold white LEDs, a switch on the pole and an energy-saving panel.
