xKids Ride On Bumper Car with 360 Degree Joystick Steering, Universal Wheel, Light Ring and Parent Remote, Ages 2 to 5, Purple
Purple with a white seat shell and a lit ring around the base, steered by pushing two joysticks against each other so it turns a full circle in place. The manufacturer rates it for carpet, board, ceramic tile and asphalt, publishes 1.3 mph, a 44 lb maximum load and an age range of 2 to 5, and charges it in 8 to 12 hours.

The rug is where the toy stops
Most ride-ons give up on carpet
A hard plastic wheel on a living room rug digs in and stalls. The child gets a few feet across the hardwood, hits the carpet and has to be lifted off it every single time.
Carpet is on the maker's own list
The manufacturer names four surfaces for this car: carpet, board, ceramic tile and asphalt. A universal wheel under the base lets it pivot rather than scrub, which is what makes a rug passable.
Deep purple with a white seat and yellow joysticks, and a light ring that runs right around the base.
Four surfaces, named
Carpet, board, ceramic tile and asphalt. Carpet is the interesting one, since it is the surface most powered toys cannot manage. Board and tile cover the rest of a normal house.
How the steering works
Push both joysticks forward and it goes. Push one and it turns. Push them opposite ways and it spins on the spot, which the universal wheel underneath makes possible. No wheel, no pedal, nothing to coordinate.
What is on the handset
Forward, backward, left, right, a frequency button and an emergency brake. That last one is the reason a parent can let a two year old loose in the first place.
The published table
Ages 2 to 5, a 44 lb maximum load, 8 to 12 hours of charging and 1.3 mph, on a body 22.5 by 29.5 by 16.5 in. Note that this colour's panel prints the battery as 6 V while the record text says 12 V.

Who is this perfect for?
Carpeted living rooms
Carpet is on the maker's own surface list, which is unusual and worth knowing if your main floor is soft.
Two to five year olds
The maker's band, with a 44 lb load limit that most children reach around five.
Parents who want a brake
The remote carries a dedicated emergency brake as well as full steering.
What we stand behind
- The speed, the 44 lb load, the age range, the charge time and the surfaces are all the manufacturer's published figures.
- This colour's specification panel prints a 6 V battery while the record text and title say 12 V. Both are shown here and neither is corrected, because the supplier's own data disagrees with itself.
- The handle on this listing reads 6v, which matches the panel but not the title. It has been left alone for the same reason.
- The manufacturer states it has passed ASTM and CPSIA certifications. No certificate number is published.
- A toy for supervised play. Never on a road, a sidewalk or a bike path.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a 6 volt or a 12 volt car?
The supplier says both. The title and the written record say 12 V, and the specification panel in this colour's own photos says 6 V. Everything else matches across the range: 4.5 Ah, 1.3 mph, 44 lb and 2 to 5 years. We have shown both rather than picking one.
Does it really work on carpet?
Carpet is one of the four surfaces the manufacturer pictures, along with board, ceramic tile and asphalt. A universal wheel underneath is what lets it pivot instead of scrubbing. Deep pile will still slow it down.
How does a two year old steer?
With two joysticks. Both forward to go, one to turn, opposite ways to spin. There is no steering wheel and no pedal.
What is on the remote?
Forward, backward, left, right, a frequency button and an emergency brake.
What is the weight limit?
44 lb, published by the manufacturer, against an applicable age of 2 to 5 years.
