A deep square planter that folds flat to three and a half inches when the season ends.

Planters are awkward to store
Empty boxes still take the room
A rigid planter takes as much shed space in January as it does in July, and there is no way to stack it any flatter.
Four sides that fold
Lift out the base board and the walls fold in on themselves. The whole thing packs down to 3.5 inches thick and slides behind a door.
The sides are narrow vertical slats on a thicker corner frame, with small gaps between them. A separate base board drops into the bottom and carries a drilled drainage hole, and four short legs hold the box off wet ground.
The numbers
Outside it is 15 inches square and 14 inches tall. The opening is 13.5 inches with 10.5 inches of soil depth. Folded it is 3.5 inches thick.
Slatted sides, raised feet
Air moves through the gaps between the slats, and the four legs keep the base off the paving so the wood is not sitting in a puddle.
Doorstep sized
At 15 inches square it sits beside a door or on a step without blocking the way. Deep enough for bedding plants, small shrubs or a clump of herbs.
What you get
Folds for storage
The walls collapse to a 3.5 inch pack once the base board is lifted out.
10.5 inches of depth
Deeper than most decorative planters, which suits roots that go down.
Drain hole in the base
The removable bottom board carries a drilled hole so water is not trapped.
Four short legs
The base stands clear of the ground, which keeps it out of standing water.
Slatted walls
Narrow boards with gaps between them let air reach the sides of the root ball.

How deep is the soil?
The inner depth is 10.5 inches, measured from the base board up.
Does water drain?

The listing and the manufacturer photos name different species, so we describe it only as solid wood until that is settled.
