Most outdoor armchairs give you two or three inches of foam on a metal seat pan. After half an hour you are sitting on the frame through the cushion, which is why so much outdoor furniture ends up being used for twenty minutes at a time.
Six and seven inches
The seat cushion here is 6 in thick and the back cushion 7 in, both filled with high density filling under skin friendly polyester. That is close to indoor seating depth, and it is why this reads as a sofa chair rather than a patio chair. The covers come off and wash, which matters more at that thickness.

The chair
