Where every level sits
Platforms at 23, 39, 53 and 71 inches, a perch of 15.5 by 19.5 above them and a base of 19.5 by 22.5. The gaps come out between fourteen and eighteen inches, which is a step rather than a jump for an adult cat, and it is what keeps a column this tall usable for a cat that is starting to slow down.
Wound up, not drilled in
A screw at the head of each column extends about twelve and a half inches, so the tower is wound upward until the top pads press on the ceiling. Measure the ceiling where the tower will actually stand before ordering. Below 93 inches it will not go in at all, and much past 105 there is nothing left to wind out.
The hammock turns
The sling is mounted so it swings around the column, which lets a cat set its own angle to the window or away from the light. Slung beds divide cats sharply. The ones that take to a hammock rarely sleep anywhere else, and the ones that do not have four platforms to choose from instead.
Rope up the whole column
Sisal is wrapped on the columns between the levels, so the scratching surface is tall enough for a cat to reach up and pull down against rather than pick at near the floor. Three balls on bells hang at different heights, and the bells tell you more than the cat, since they report that the tree is in use at two in the morning.
