Height makes a tree awkward, not just tall
A tall tree in three long sections means carrying pieces that are five feet or more, getting them up a stairwell and holding one overhead while the join lines up. It is a two person job that often becomes a one person job.
Four sections and a fitted bolt
This one divides into four rather than three, so no single piece is unmanageable. The stand bolt is pre-fitted and the hinges drop the branches into position as each section rises, which leaves only the shaping to do by hand.
This is the largest size in a three size family. Everything below is what the manufacturer publishes for this size specifically, since the smaller two are built differently. The 6 ft comes in three sections and carries 600 tips, so the jump to 1498 tips and a fourth section here is a change in construction rather than only in height.
Nine feet, five across
9 ft of height on a 5 ft spread and a 24 inch stand. Category guidance asks for about a foot of clear air above the tip, so a ten foot ceiling is the practical minimum. Tape out a five and a half foot floor circle before ordering.
1498 tips and a wide leaf
The leaves here are moulded broader than a standard needle, which the manufacturer calls a wide leaf design. Broad leaves hold flocking better than fine needles do, so the snow coverage stays even rather than collecting at the branch ends.
Four sections on a nine foot tree
Four parts plus the stand. Each piece is short enough for one person to lift, which matters far more at nine feet than at six. The hinges drop the branches into place as the section goes up, and the stand folds flat afterwards.

Frequently asked questions
What ceiling height does a 9 ft tree need?
Balsam Hill's guide asks for at least 12 inches between the tip and the ceiling, so ten feet is the practical minimum. The stand lifts the tree and a topper adds more again.
Does it come with lights?
No. This is an unlit flocked tree, so you choose the string yourself. On a nine foot tree plan for more light than you think. Health Canada advises looking for a CSA, cUL or cETL mark on light strings.
Will the flocking shed?
The manufacturer's own photography says a little may shed during the first setup and advises gentle handling. Open it out over a sheet, hold the inner branches rather than the tips, and keep water and sprays off the foliage.
Can one person put it up?
Four sections rather than three is what makes that realistic. Each piece is short enough to lift alone, though a second pair of hands helps when the top section goes on.
How is it different from the smaller sizes?
The family runs 6, 7.5 and 9 ft with 600, 1010 and 1498 tips on 18, 20 and 24 inch stands. This listing is the 9 ft.
