A tree in a shop doorway or a front garden is worth having for a fortnight, not for the hour of assembly and the hour of dismantling either side of it. That is why a lot of outdoor spaces stay bare.
It opens like an umbrella
The pop-up frame does the work. Open it out, stand it up, stake it down if it is going outside, and plug it in. The lights are already fitted, so there is nothing to string, and it collapses the same way in January.
This is a lit shape rather than a foliage tree, built to be put up quickly and taken down just as fast. Everything about it follows from that.
Six feet up, a flat coil down
6.2 ft of height and a 2 ft spread on a 21.5 inch base when it is standing. The inset shows it collapsed: a flat coil that stores in a fraction of the space a sectional tree needs.
Twelve presets, then the app
Twelve preset modes run from a single button on the cord. Connecting a phone over Bluetooth opens up custom modes. The record names the app as Flash Lights and the product graphic names it Smart Life, so check the instructions in the box rather than downloading on our word.
Star, leaves and base
Three parts called out: a lit star at the crown, PVC foliage on the coils, and a powder coated metal base described as rust resistant. The manufacturer also rates the PVC IP44, which covers splashing water rather than immersion.

Which app does it use?
We cannot tell you with confidence. The store record names Flash Lights and the manufacturer's own graphic names Smart Life. Check the instruction sheet in the box before downloading anything. The twelve preset modes work from the button without any app at all.
Can it stay outside?
The PVC is rated IP44 by the manufacturer, which covers splashing water, and four ground stakes are supplied. Keep the connections off wet ground and clear heavy snow off it. Health Canada advises matching decorations to their indoor or outdoor rating.
How does it store?
It collapses into a flat coil rather than breaking into sections, so it takes far less cupboard space than a conventional tree.
Is there any foliage on it?
Yes, PVC leaves on the coils, unlike a plain spiral light tree. It reads as a tree shape in daylight rather than a bare frame.
