The two things that set this apart from an ordinary kids mountain bike are on the specification rather than in the photographs: seven gears instead of six, and a 220 lb weight capacity instead of the 110 lb most bikes this size publish. Add six inches of seat post and an adjustable handlebar and this is a frame a rider grows into rather than out of. There is no coaster brake and no training wheel mount, so it starts where a first bike finishes.
The bike
A high carbon steel hardtail in blue with a shock absorbing front fork, a Shimano seven speed derailleur worked by a twist shifter, V-brakes at both wheels, a kickstand and a bell. No training wheels and no coaster brake.
From the other side
The drive side view is the one that shows what this bike actually is: a rear derailleur with seven sprockets, a sprung fork, a kickstand and rim brakes at both wheels. None of it is unusual on an adult bike and all of it is unusual on a bike sized for a child.
The maker's product size panel
The 24 in row gives a saddle of 28.5 to 34.5 in, a suitable rider height of 56 to 66 in and a 220 lb weight capacity. The drawing beside it puts the bike at 63 in long, 23 in wide, 40 to 42 in high. There is no age row on this listing, which is the right way round: rider height and saddle height are what decide the fit.
Both ends adjust
The saddle covers 28.5 to 34.5 in on a locking device and the bars 38 to 40 in. Set the saddle from the inseam first so the rider can get a foot down at a stop, then raise the bars until they are sitting up rather than reaching.
What is on this bike
Saddle 28.5 to 34.5 in
Six inches of seat post on a locking device, against a rider band of 56 to 66 in.
Handlebar 38 to 40 in
The bars adjust as well as the saddle, which is what stops a growing rider ending up stretched out over the front wheel.
Shimano 7 speed
A rear derailleur shifted by twisting the grip. Seven gears is one more than the usual six at this size, and the twist shifter is the part a child can actually use while riding.
220 lb capacity
Twice what most kids bikes publish, which is why this frame still works for a teenager.
V-brakes and a kickstand
Rim brakes at both wheels on two levers, plus a kickstand for parking. There is no coaster brake.

Who is this perfect for?
Riders 56 to 66 in tall
The maker's suitable height band for this wheel size. The saddle bottoms out at 28.5 inches, which is the figure to check a child's inseam against before buying.
Riders who are still growing
Six inches of seat post and two and a half at the bars, on a frame rated to 220 lb. This is a bike bought to last several years rather than one season.
Riders past the coaster brake
Both brakes are levers. A child who still stops by pedalling backwards has nothing to fall back on here, so practise the levers on flat ground first.
What we stand behind
- The saddle height, suitable height, handlebar height, overall size and 220 lb weight capacity here are the manufacturer's own published figures for the 24 in.
- The manufacturer states the bike is ASTM and CPSIA compliant. We repeat that as their claim and quote no certificate number, because none is published.
- No helmet is included. A helmet belongs on every ride, and eight Canadian provinces have helmet legislation, three of them for riders under 18.
- This is a bike for supervised riding on paths, driveways and parks, never on a road.
- There is no coaster brake on this bike. Both brakes are levers.
- No suitable age, inseam band or bike weight is published for this range, so none is stated.
- Ships from our United States warehouse, free shipping over $150, and 14 day returns unused in the original packaging.
