Four o'clock in November and the yard is already dark
Play stops when the light goes
Canadian afternoons run out early for half the year. A toy with a painted grille and no real lamps gets put away as soon as the sun drops behind the fence.
Real lamps, front and roof
This truck has working LED headlights and a bar of four lamps across the roof. The maker photographs it lighting a path at dusk. It does not make the yard safe on its own, but it keeps the driver visible to you.
Matte black over black wheels, with a licence plate on the bumper and a windscreen frame that runs the full width.
The face of it
Two round headlamps, a pair of driving lamps in the bumper and four more on the roof. All of them light. The windscreen frame and the flat bonnet give it the look of a full size off-roader rather than a toy car.
Lights and the switches under them
The maker shows the lamps working in low light, and below that the three things a child or a parent touches: the switch bank, the handrail between the seats and the carry handle. Simple, separate switches suit small hands better than one multi-function dial.
It is a big toy
48.5 in long and 31.5 in both wide and tall. That is close to a metre and a quarter of truck. Measure the shed, the garage bay or the back of the car before ordering, and remember it arrives in two cartons.
What the dash does
A power display, volume, music and pause, a forward and reverse switch, a light button, high and low speed and the charge socket. The USB, TF card slot and AUX port all sit on the same panel.
What is on this truck
Working LED lights
Headlamps, bumper lamps and a four lamp roof bar, all of them lit rather than moulded.
Two seats and a handrail
A wide bench for two children with a safety belt and a handrail between them.
Three speeds on the remote
The 2.4G handset gives three settings. In the child's own mode there are two forward speeds and two reverse.
Rear shock absorber spring
Sprung rear wheels, which the maker credits for smoothing out a rough surface.
Soft start and stop
It builds speed and sheds it gradually rather than snapping between stop and go.
Two storage spaces
A box behind the seats and a compartment under the front bonnet for small toys.
Music from anywhere
Built-in music and stories, plus a USB port, a TF card slot and an AUX socket.
Lockable doors
Both doors open for getting in and lock for riding, with a portable handle for moving the truck.

Who is this perfect for?
Families with short winter afternoons
Working lamps front and roof keep the driver visible on a dim driveway and stretch the useful part of the day.
Two children under 110 lb together
The capacity is for the truck, not per seat, so weigh both of them together before you order.
Parents who want the slow setting
Three speeds on the remote against two in the child's mode means the adult can pick the gentler pace.
What we stand behind
- The speed, the 110 lb capacity, the age, the battery and the charger output are all the manufacturer's published figures.
- The net weight on this black record is 38.5 lb while the other colours of the same model say 52 lb. Both are printed as published and neither is corrected.
- No run time, no charge time and no remote range is published on this record, so none is quoted.
- No certification is claimed on this record, so none is repeated.
- A toy for supervised play on private property. Never on a road, a sidewalk or a bike path.
Frequently asked questions
How many speeds does it have?
Three when an adult drives it on the 2.4G remote, and in the child's own mode two forward speeds and two in reverse. Both modes have a soft start and a soft stop.
What is the weight limit?
110 lb, and that covers both seats together rather than each one. The manufacturer's recommended age is 3 and up.
How fast is 2.5 to 4 km/h?
Slower than an adult walking, which is about 5 km/h. It is a pace you can stay level with while a child is learning to steer.
Where do toys go?
Two places. There is a storage box behind the seats and a compartment under the front bonnet, which the maker calls the engine box.
How long does the battery take?
No charge time is published for this model. Canadian retailers put a 12 V toy battery at eight to twelve hours for a full charge, and advise unplugging it once it is full rather than leaving it on overnight after that.
Does it come in more than one box?
Yes, the packing note says two cartons, and they may not arrive together. The remote and the charger are in the box with the truck.
