What usually goes wrong
A set point that felt right at bedtime is too cold by the early hours, because your body temperature drops while you sleep. Most people either wake up and switch the unit off or give up and leave it off all night.
How this one answers it
Sleep mode raises the set point by 1.8 F every hour, turns the display off so nothing glows, and shuts the unit down after twelve hours. It tracks the night instead of holding one number through it.
Four protections, and what each one prevents
Child lock stops the panel being changed. Overflow protection halts the unit before water can escape. Auto defrost clears ice off the coil on a cool damp morning. Overload protection cuts power on a current spike. ETL and DOE marks are on the manufacturer's artwork.

Clip the connector to the hose, push the adapter on the other end, slide the kit into the opening, drop the sash onto it and hook the hose into the adapter. Openings from 25.5 to 47 inches, on either kind of sliding window.

Is 10,000 BTU or 6,000 BTU the number to size from?
6,000 BTU, the SACC figure, which is what the 350 sq ft coverage is based on. ASHRAE 10,000 BTU comes from a fixed laboratory test, and Danby notes SACC is generally lower for the same machine because it reflects a real cooling season.
How much water does it remove?
Dry mode is rated at 51 pints, or 24 litres, a day. What you actually collect depends on how humid the room is. Fit the 2.1 ft drain hose for continuous drainage if you are running it through a damp stretch.
Can the window kit handle a crank out window?
No. It covers sliding windows, vertical or horizontal, from 25.5 to 47 inches. Casement and crank out windows need a panel cut to the opening, since a sliding kit cannot seal against that frame.
