Grey fabric over a curved steel arm, reaching a 10 foot canopy over a sofa or a pair of loungers from a post that stands to the side. That is the job a table umbrella cannot do. The canopy tilts to any angle and turns a full circle on one locking handle, opens on a crank, and sits 6.5 feet off the ground. Weights are not included.

Nothing to hold the umbrella up
Lounge furniture has no hole for a pole

It stands on its own base
This one stands on its own crossed metal base beside the furniture, and the arm hangs the canopy over the top. Load the base with sandbags, then tilt and turn the shade as needed.
Over a sectional
The post stands at the end of a long sectional and the canopy covers the whole run of seats. Nothing sits among the cushions. The printed note is plain: the weighted base is not included.
Beside the loungers
Two loungers side by side, the base set back behind them and the canopy reaching over both. The 10 foot canopy gives room to sit up underneath.
Tilt and turn from one handle
The close up shows the handle. Loosen the lock and move it up or down to tilt; loosen and turn for rotation. There are no fixed notches, so the canopy stops exactly where the shade is needed.
The grey, plainly
In the studio the grey reads as a mid charcoal. The canopy hangs from the end of the curved arm, 6.5 feet off the ground by the manufacturer's drawing, with the arm rising to 8 feet.

Frequently asked questions
Will it cover a sofa set?
Yes. The 10 foot canopy spans a three seat sofa and a coffee table, and the post stands at the end rather than among the seating. Underneath there is 6.5 feet of room by the drawing.
Are the sandbags or weights included?
No. A crossed metal base is included and the listing says it needs sandbags or a weighted base, not included, to hold it down. No weight is published, so fill or load it generously: a side post umbrella carries its canopy off centre.
Is the grey the same as in the photos?
Mostly. One image in this grey listing actually shows a navy canopy over a blue sofa, so we have not used it here. The other photos show the grey.
What about wind and winter?
The manufacturer asks you to close it in severe weather. Crank it down, fasten the loop strap and, for winter, let it dry fully before storing it somewhere dry.

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
